November 25.  Just checked gas prices at the new COSTCO.  $2.79.  Rose 4 cents per gallon since yesterday.  These gas stations there are just a ploy to draw people.  When sales are slow there, they lower the prices.  I would say that they are being overwhelmed and the price will continue to rise.  Planning on gassing up next Tuesday.

November 24.  COSTCO opened in Hayward.  Need to renew my membership.  Gas was going for $2.75.  Paid $2.93 at Chevron yesterday about 1 1/2 miles away from there.  After I renew, that's where I shall be getting my gas.

November 23. A very famous day in history.  If you have to ask what happened, then forget it.

CHABOT COLLEGE FLEA MARKET.  Okay, the review is pretty much done.  I really had to question whether I wanted to mention something that happened.  I did and you can read the review now.

November 22.  Watched The Amazing Race and recorded the first hour of the American Music Awards.  Began watching that at 9:00pm.  My night was ruined when I saw AROD take the stage.  Good ol 'FF'.  Thank gosh for the Fast Forward button on my control.  Up came Alisha Keys.  Not bad.  Some rapper came on and I had to push my FF again.  Let's here it for the Fast Forward button on our controls.  Second favorite button next to the 'off' one.  Crazy ain't it?

BERKELEY FLEA MARKET.  Stopped by the Ashby Flea Market today and might take it under consideration.  Used to be one of the better markets around but has gone downhill as sales plummeted.  Strictly "Berkeley'ish.'  Could be doomed with forthcoming construction plans.  Other's biting the dust soon are the Berryessa (SJ) Market and Capitol.  I guess a lot of these markets go from dust to drive-in to flea market and back to dust.    I checked out reviews on Yelp and found this one interesting about the flea market:

Oh yea...if you live in Berkeley and your car or house gets broken into, be sure to visit the flea market the first following weekend (after filing a report, of course) to see if you can find your stuff for sale! Seriously.

Click here to read more reviews on Yelp.  I think that you might find things interesting there.

November 21.  Rained early morning.  Parking lot at Chabot Flea Market was wet and my money pouch was dry.  Terrible.  Fair-sized crowd for a November Saturday but they were buying junk.

November 18.  HOME DEPOT.  Went over there with my son to pick up some things.  I always pay at the register and NEVER use any of the automated checkouts because I am a 'Union Man.'  I do not like to see jobs lost to automation, etc., or whatever you want to call it.  Anyhow, my son decided to try the automated checkout and had difficulties scanning the products and then had a slight problem inserting the cash.  Altogether, it would have been quicker had we gone to a regular checker.  I glanced over and saw a lady standing at the end of the aisle actually observing people making the electronic purchases.  SHE WAS STANDING THERE WATCHING.  So, they actually pay somebody to stand there and watch instead of being an actual cashier.  Disgusting.

BITES AND PIECES.  I just made a new entry on this page.  I suddenly recalled an interesting story that happened in Castro Valley several year's ago.

November 17.  Just read that a 10-year old kid refused to recite 'The Pledge of Allegiance' in his Arkansas elementary school.  The substitute teacher freaked out.  Now these people are making a big deal out of it.  So, you know what's going to happen now...  COPYCAT's all over the place.  Gosh, with my state of mind after all these years, I do believe that I would be protesting all kinds of stuff to get attention if I were back in school  ...  go on Regis, Oprah, Good Morning America.  Hell, after that I could write a book on why whatever and become rich and famous.  Go on to have my own TV show.

GAS PRICES ARE pretty much staying put.  I have a gouger over here at Mt Eden - a Valero station at the corner of Hesperian close to 92.  This guy matches Chevron's price of $2.99 during the day...   but by nighttime...  after Chevron closes...  He jacks up his price to $3.11 to try and squeeze every penny out of people.  So, that's maybe an extra couple bucks per car.  But what fool is going to fill up at $3.11+?  WTF.  Guy is a ripoff.  I talked to the guys over there at Chevron and told them about it.  They said that he can raised his prices as high as he wants as long as he has the prices posted up front.  Stay the hell away from this idiot.

San Jose Holiday Craft Show.  The review is pretty much completed and I am now releasing it to the world.  Read on and enjoy yourself.  Still working on parts of it, but I am pretty busy with stuff

November 15.  Show was terrible.  Absolutely no money there.  Had a fair amount of people there but not much buying.  Virtually all the vendors are starving!!!  Heard about other shows going on this weekend and they were bad also, particularly Antioch, which sucked again this year.  Let them get all new vendors next year.  Good luck.  After what they did to a number of us this year, I hope nobody signs up.  What goes around comes around?

November 14.  Survived another Friday the 13th.  Stayed away from ladders and no black cat ran in front of me.

HOLIDAY CRAFTER'S FAIRE in San Jose at the Berryessa Flea Market.  Might be the last one of these over here.  This Flea Market is slated for demolition soon.  Not sure when but it is going to happen.  They were supposed to build a bunch of housing, etc.. over here but those plans have been shelved.  It's bye, bye, Balboni for this place.  Have heard that a lot of the regular vendors in the Flea Market have departed.  Anyway this show is being held at the Pavilion there and you can read my review

ANTIOCH HOLIDAY FAIR.  Was supposed to have done this one.  They cut down the number of booths at this one and I was eliminated.  Had sent in my application and they held onto it for quite a while.  Read about it here.

November 11.  Veteran's Day.  Postal Holiday if you don't know.  Don't know who else officially observes this day and recognizes the significance of this day dedicated to the men and women who have fought in wars for our country's freedom (and whatever else we fight these wars for - oil?)

100 GREATEST TV SHOWS..  I ran across a blog tonight that describes the 100 Greatest TV Shows of all time.  Wow.  I am really impressed with this but apparently somebody has a lot of time on their hands.  Good job, but can you imagine typing in (or copying) all this information?  Holy smokes.

TV COMMERCIAL. I don’t normally laugh at these TV Commercials nowadays. Actually, I don’t really pay much attention. There is this McDonald’s commercial where the guy goes in and asks "What do you have for a dollar?" I have heard that question countless times and usually with those words come from some 8-9 year old kid. That sounded so familiar and I’ll probably hear it again this weekend, since we are selling at a Holiday show located inside a pavilion at the San Jose Berryessa Flea Market. At one time this was considered to be the World’s Largest Flea Market. That distinction is no more and this market will be closing in the next year or so. There was supposed to be a huge construction project built in it’s place but that has been cancelled due to the wonderful economy. I understand that vendors are departing en masse and these once-thriving family businesses are going under. Very sorry to hear this and Wal-mart, Ross, along with all these huge, off-price conglomerates that take away from the 'little guys' can kiss my butt!!!

While searching the web for info on Berryessa, I came across some info that the Capitol Flea Market in San Jose will be closing soon also as the land has been sold.  Never been there; never sold there and never considered it.  From a vendor's standpoint, I have heard nothing good about this one.

Realizing that this was once (like so many other flea markets) a Drive-Inn Movie Theater, I decided to check up on the Alameda Drive-Inn where I used to go back in the 70s when I lived there.  A lot of info on old Drive-Inns is found on this website:  http://cinematreasures.org/theater/4973/   I think you will enjoy browsing through it checking out some of the one's you went to long ago.  Those were the good ol days, huh?  Gosh, times have really changed.  Anyway, here's what they said about the one in Alameda:

storm in 1991 destroyed the screen at this theater. Oddly enough, after the expense and labor of replacing it, the theater never re-opened. The site continued as a weekend swap meet until 1995 when it was closed and abandoned. It was demolished in 1997, and a housing subdivision was built shortly thereafter on the site. Nothing remains of this Drive-in.

Alameda, California by Dizzy Atmosphere.

I never knew about the storm.  I'm sure that we all had great times at Drive-Inns and I suddenly recalled a very funny incident that happened over in Petaluma.  Was at a drive-inn there back in 1975 and when I went to the snack bag there was this guy in his 20's completely stoned and he just bought some popcorn.  He grabbed hold of the ketchup container and poured a huge amount of it on top of his box of popcorn.  I just could never imagine somebody using ketchup on it, but what the heck.  I guess he was used to it.

November 10.  Checkout Billionaire Exchange, the EBay for Millionaire's.  ARod's Miami house going for almost $10M.

November 9.  Only 1167 days left until Apocalypse 2012...  Getting excited to see if this is really going to happen.  Can you imagine all the people who are going to capitalize on this and make millions off this thing.  Movies? Survival kits?  Bomb shelters? People, please do not buy survival kits because it it happens, you are not going to be around.  TV commercials telling you to stock up on toilet paper and water?  It's going to be so funny...... or maybe, just maybe it won't be funny at all.  Maybe I'll put up a website with survival tips for that great event.  Mark your calendar people....  December 21, 2012.  That's a leap year people, so you get that extra day to live(?) or to think about it.

Breaking The Code: Understanding The Book Of Revelation

The book of Revelation contains passages of great beauty and comfort, as well as passages that are bizarre, bewildering, apocalyptic, and frightening. How are readers today to discern God's message in this peculiar part of the Bible? In this book Metzger presents solid interpretations in easy to understand language. Is the apocalypse coming in 2012?

I thought that ad above was hilarious.  Look at the price......was $40.00  NOW ONLY $5.00

SHOULD WRITE A BOOK....  How to profit on the forthcoming Apocalypse.  Now you can make millions of dollars capitalizing on people's fears.  Reserve your book now.  Only $49.95.  Only 5 million copies to be printed hurry now.  Worry now.

I CAN SEE THE NEWSPAPERS NOW ON Dec 15, 2012.  Holiday sales down nearly 95 percent as doomsayers wait for the eventful day.  Stores closing and boarding up.  Employees being layed off.  Churches overwhelmed.  Carole King makes surprise appearance in Central Park singing "It's too late, baby."  Steam slated to sing "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye."

AND THEN ON DEC 22.  Millions of shoppers flock to stores.  Lines 5 miles long reported at Macy's in New York; 2 miles long at Ross in Castro Valley, CA; 3 miles long at Target in Hayward.

November 6.  You probably recall all those advertisements for 'Yaz' which I guess was some kind of birth control?  Now you are seeing commercials from attorney's saying that if you were affected by Yaz to give them a call.  Everybody is trying to get your money, I guess.  I am sure that these people who were medically damaged by the drug know very well what to do.  My issue here is that these attorney's are trying to profit financially on somebody's misfortunate medical crises and could care less about what has transpired.

THE RICH AND FAMOUS.  Came across an interesting website which shows a lot of expensive homes, jewelry, cars, etc.  http://www.luxist.com  Loads of interesting stuff, even if you aren't rich or famous.

NATIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS now at 10.2 percent.  Thank you Obama and those of you who voted for him.  I did not.

A BAD HAIR DAY.  My son pulled out the package of bacon we bought at Food Maxx on Wednesday.  He spotted in small print - use or freeze by Oct 17 (three weeks ago).  Good bye.  Hopped in my car and drove over there AFASAP and brought it over to the attention of the manager and she let me exchange it of course.  I went back to where the bacon was at and checked through several Farmer John's packages.  Picked out one with a date of Nov 24.  Fine.  However, I did spot another with a date of Oct 27, which I took to the manager.  I will be conducting 'inspections' each time I go there now with the dairy and refrigerated products.

November 5.  E-MAIL ALERT.  I received an email from somebody pretending to be from UPS telling me that my package could not be delivered.  They wanted me to download an attachment WHICH DOES INDEED CONTAIN A VIRUS.  Do not download thing like this even out of curiousity.  The e-mail look pretty phony to begin with.   Check it out.

RICE RANCH in Tyson opened up on Nov 1.  I guess that's the first show out there  this season. I know that some of you are on-line out there.  How about letting us know what's up.  Do we have a large number of snowbirds flocking to AZ this season?  Click here (hotline) to tell me about life out there.  I'll be out there in mid-January in space x-19 at the Sell-a-Rama.  The Indian fry bread over there at the 'Ranch' is some of the best around.  What are you doing for your WiFi connections?  Here's a listing of the merchants over there.

November 4.  Click here to see the winner's of the 2009 Starving Vendor's "Rodney Dangerfield - Can't get no respect" award.

November 3.  As you recall from last year at this time, gas prices were heading downward.  This year, just not happening.  Thank you O'Bumma.  You guys voted for him.  All the Asians, Blacks, Hispanics and Liberal white people got him into office.  Thank you.  Now, can't you see how you are reaping the rewards?

I completed my review for the Meridian Square Fair/Bazaar this past weekend.  Resolved my problem.  No show and no review for this coming week.  And no, I am not going to Vacaville or anyplace else to check on events.  Actually, there aren't that many around here this weekend.  You have some smaller church-type craft shows and the DeAnza Flea Market on Saturday.  Looks like decent weather anyway.

November 2.  My review for Meridian Square will be finished by Wednesday.  Can't find my connector for my camera to the USB port.

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO PLAY BAMOPOLY.

October 31.  Went down to Meridian Square in San Jose for a show.  It was a bit foggy during the AM and rather cool and cloudy well into the afternoon.  Attendance was low for the show and people apparently went elsewhere.  I will have my review done by Monday.  Can't upload pics right now because I mis-placed the USB Connector for my camera.

KIND OF SORE AND TIRED tonight from the cool, damp weather today in San Jose.  Started thinking that I needed a massage.  Matter of fact, I thought how nice it would be to have one of those massages you get in Japan and Thailand where the lady puts soap all over her body and rubs herself up and down.  I hope we don't have kids reading this stuff.  I'm just kidding, people.  Need a laugh, okay.  Sounds nice though.

ALAMEDA SHORELINE.  Just watching the news and saw that a lot of oil appeared on the beaches there from the oil spill in the bay the other day.  Such a shame.

October 30.  I would like to remind people to support your community events over the holidays.  Drop by some of these events whenever possible and support the community organizations that are putting on the events.  Support the vendors as revenues from booth spaces are being used to help out many NP groups in your neighborhoods.  I have seen many hard-working people giving their time and effort to make these events happen.  Surely you can find many Christmas gifts by shopping at your local communities' events.

VAL'S BURGERS in Hayward.  Stopped by there today for some burgers.  Some claim this to be the best place in the Bay Area for Hamburgers.  I hadn't eaten one of their burgers in several year's.  I bought the Papa Burger for my son and that was $7.95.  My wife and I ate the Mama Burger's.  You know, I really think that basically, a burger is a burger.  I think that you can only classify them as either good, okay, or pretty bad.  I really can't tell the difference between a pretty good burger and an excellent one.  The burger's at Val's are good, but not too sure if you could call them the best of the Bay Area.  The place was packed and was hopping.  Twelve booths/tables with 4 hungry, talkative people in each.  Twelve stools with bodies upon each.  I think that this is more of a 'popular' spot due to excessive publicity.  It's quite a stop-and-go drive across town to this place, so I don't really go there quite often.  I stick to the West side and Sam's Burger's, where you get the best burger for your buck in the area.

Will be at the Meridian Square Bazaar in San Jose on Saturday.  Come on down and check it out.  How about this one......   Believe it or not.

October 28.  GET YOUR FREE TACO.  Taco Bell is giving away free Black Jack Tacos on Saturday night at 6:00PM.  Come on homies.....  I want all you homeless people to run over to your nearest Taco Bell Saturday evening.

Getting ready to watch Pedro go up against the Yankees.

I just thought I'd put in a pitch for good ol' COSTCO CARAVAN CANOPIES.  Click here to read what happened and see more pictures.

October 27.  I would like to designate Thursday's as 'check your tires' day.  I think that 'they' (whoever they is) recommends that you check your air pressure once a month.  We all take it for granted that those tires are going to be full of air when we take off for our shows on Friday and Saturday.  The other week when I was preparing to head up to Ukiah on Friday, my son checked my tires for me and found one of them to only have 20 PSI (normal=38).  Slow leak.  Went down to Wheel Works and they found a nail in the tire and fixed it up.  Had this leak gone unnoticed, a potential disaster would have been in the works and possibly the weekend ruined.  So people, I am glad that you have taken the time to read this and hope that we all can adhere to this advice.  Hopefully, you won't be sitting alongside the highway and wishing that you would have checked the tires because that blowout you just had might have been preventable.

BAY BRIDGE IS CLOSED due to shady repair work.  Perhaps 2-3 days; they don't know.
Bay Bridge Closed After Brace Falls Onto Span.  TREASURE ISLAND, Calif. -- Transportation officials are shutting down the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in both directions Monday night to assess possible structural damage after repair work made to the bridge last month came loose, California Department of Transportation spokesman Bart Ney said.  Click here to read more and then come back.

October 25.  Wonderful weather.  Too bad I didn't have a show.  Only people that had a show around here were the 4 idiots that had spaces at Vacaville's Harvest Days.

Went out with my wife today and dropped by Dimitra's in Alameda for sandwiches and drove over to the edge of the Bay at the Naval Air Station and ate our lunch facing San Francisco and the Bay.  Too bad that this area will probably never be improved because of all the contamination from the airplane fuel in the ground and water.  Brings back memories of my 'squid days' from 1970-4 when I walked these grounds listening to the loud and deafening roars of the airplanes.  After eating, we drove over to Camping World in Fairfield (actually Cordelia) and it was gone.  No idea where it went to because it has been wiped from the face of the earth.  Wow.  I think it was there a month ago.

VACAVILLE HARVEST DAYS was our next stop and it wasn't much.  A few food vendors and four merchandise.  I was there around 3:00pm and there were perhaps a dozen people milling about the entertainment and food areas.  Nobody over in the vendor booths.  I guess this show has a reputation?  Or is it because they have forced vendors to undergo a police check in which vendors had to pay $25?  Whatever the case is, all but 4 of you listened to what you heard from people, believed what you read in Craftmaster and listened to me also.  Thank you.  As for the 4 of you that sold at the show.  Why?  You think that we all are making thousands of dollars at this event and we're telling you it's a bad show so nobody else shares our wealth?  Huh!!  I've still got my $150 and you don't.

October 24.  Beautiful Saturday, but no show.  Had seen in Craftlister that there might be an Autumn Festival over in San Lorenzo.  So, I drove down there to check it out and all they had was the Farmer's Market, which was every Saturday there.  My son and I walked around the 15 or so booths.  Absolutely no festival, that's for sure.  There was a white buy sitting on a stool strumming his guitar and trying to sing.  You could hear him throughout the market and I found it to be more of a nuisance.  It was difficult to hear other's talking, so after looking at the fruits and veggies, we decided to drive over to the Hayward Farmer's Market, located perhaps 3-4 miles away downtown, adjacent to City Hall.  Much better and a lot more action.  There were some food vendors there along with maybe 30 booths and one lonely lady selling hand-made jewelry alongside the area.  At least she didn't pay a lot for a space and she can show a profit after a couple sales.  Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort.  There was an instrumental quartet there strummin' away on their things and they sounded a lot better.

GAME 6 has been rained out and will be played Sunday evening.  Wouldn't you really love to see the Yankees lose?  GO ANGELS.

THE WEATHER.  Wetter or not you like it, but the rains look like they are definitely coming next weekend.  Hopefully we can get by Saturday afternoon.  All the forecasts are showing rain, but I would imagine what really matters is when it will all happen.

October 23.  Soupy Sales has died at the age of 83.

Sales was once breifly suspended after telling his young audience to empty their parents' wallets and purses and mail him all the pieces of green paper bearing pictures of presidents.  By the time Sales' New York run ended two years later, he had appeared in 5,370 live television programs and released a pair of albums that made the Billboard Top 10 in 1965.  Sales continued to appear on television from 1968-75 on the game show What's My Line? and later guest-starred on shows including The Mike Douglas Show and The Love Boat. Sales also appeared as himself in the 1998 Eddie Murphy film Holy Man.

October 22.  Received letter from Antioch.  After having sent in my app 5 weeks ago, they are just responding to me now.  Thanks a lot, assholes.   You can read what they had to say.

October 20.  Parade and the good weather brought out the crowds on Saturday but sales were down for people.  Not as large of a crowd on Sunday and sales much lower for people.  Weather held out.  On Monday, the rains came to Northern California.  Thank gosh we made it through a dry weekend.  Read the review

IS ALL GAS CREATED EQUAL.  Might find this informative, but then again I guess people think they know everything.  Oh Well.

WEATHER.  Just checked Accuweather's 15 day forecast for San Jose.  Rain the the 31st.  Happy Halloween people.  Doing Nada's Meridian Square event.  Of course, we all know just how dependable those forecasts are.

JUST LIKE MOST OF THE OTHER VENDORS, I will not have an event this weekend.  Seems like a bunch of people are heading down to the Central Coast to do Paso Robles and Los Osos, but I shall pass on those.  I've done LO before and it's more like a social gathering for the locals along with a huge amount of dogs.  So maybe if you sell dog stuff, but anything else?  Forget it.  I liked the event, but I just wouldn't make enough for it to be worthwhile. This will be my first weekend off in 17 weeks.  Wow.  I think that I just went through a stretch where I went 35 weeks with only one weekend off.  Many people do shows every weekend of the year, husbands and wive's often splitting up and doing two events on a weekend.

October 19.  Had to run over to Sunnyvale and on the way back we stopped by our favorite burrito place located  at a small mall in Redwood City.  Always drop by there when I've got the chance and craving for them  Super.  As I stepped out of my car there, I suddenly recalled doing one of Etta Lewis' shows over there many years ago.  She did pass away 2-3 years back and she had a loyal following.  Many years ago she had spaces at the now-defunct Antioch Rivertown Jamboree. I can still picture her walking around in her leopard coat telling people to keep within their spaces. It was drizzling and a bit cool - exactly the same weather we had when we did the event.  Not a great money-maker then but what else are you going to do in December.  Had to really watch your stuff there because a lot of homeless people frequented the area.

October 17.  In Ukiah for the weekend.  Lots of familiar faces.   This weekend there's Pismo Beach Clamfest; Campbell Octoberfest and the Ukiah Pumpkin Fair.  The weather here was great today-a few clouds, but that's fine.  Rain coming late tomorrow.  Hope we make it out of there in time.  Sales were somewhat okay for me today; not sure about others.  There was a pretty good-sized crowd today.  I think I have a good space.  On a corner, which I think is excellent.  Easy set  up; good visibility and hopefully, a quick and easy teardown and departure on Sunday.

October 16.  Weather looks pretty decent for the weekend in Ukiah.  Maybe showers coming Sunday evening.  Hope to get packed up and heading home before that happens.  I am kind of curious about Saturday's Accuweather forecast: Times of clouds and sun.  Is there something else I should be made aware of?  Isn't that what the weather is?  It's cloudy.  It's sunny.  What else is there.  It's always either cloudy or sunny or both.  It get's dark, but........  never mind.  These forecasts are pretty funny sometimes.  You'll have partly cloudy one day and partly sunny the next.  May I ask exactly what the hell is the difference?  If it's partly cloudy, then it must be partly sunny also.  I think.

October 15.  Have reached the mid-point of the month and not very many good events left in the year.  The weather is looking good for Ukiah and it's all systems go.  Good luck everybody.

October 14.  THE LOST REVIEW.  For some reason, I never had the Lemoore Pizza Festival in my menu of reviews (Apr 2008).  You can now view it here.

October 13.  TALL TALES.  I am in the process of writing a bunch of small pieces that you might find entertaining.  Currently, there are three up on this site.  The first one is about Groupies Swarming a Rock Dealer in Monterey.  I got the idea from a visit 15 years ago to a Monterey Gem and Mineral show.  There was a dealer there that told me that 'he has groupies that follow him from show to show.'  It was hysterical, I must say.  The second one is about the Burning Vendor Festival out in the desert near Mojave.  It's a takeoff on the Burning Man Festival out by Reno last month.  The third story is an over-cooked tale about a bunch of German guys who were located in a room two doors down from us at a motel in San Luis Obispo.

EARTHQUAKE AT 8:28 pm.  Felt in the Hayward area.  Checked KTVU.com website and they are not showing anything.  However, here are some videos they have of the 1989 Quake.  http://www.ktvu.com/video/17739197/index.html   This is of the Cypress stucture that collapsed.  I was working at the Post Office just down the street from there at that moment.  Here's another video:  http://www.ktvu.com/video/17739340/index.html   Click here to see official stats on tonights quake.   3.8 centered out  near Sunol and Pleasanton. http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/nc71299286.html   If you have Google Earth installed on your computer, you can click here Google Earth KML to see exactly where it occurred.

DAMM.  Just got a call on my phone from 702-489-9272.  Did a search on it and it turned out to be a solicitation from Obamacare Grants.  What happened to the 'do not call list'.

REGIS PHILBIN COMING TO COARSEGOLD.  He will be appearing at the Chukchansi Gold Resort And Casino which is just down the highway from Oakhurst.  Tickets are between $40-50 and he will do his thing on Saturday, October 24 at 8:00pm.

October 12.  Weather changing out there.  No rain yet, but it is definitely coming.  Hopefully only a day or two.  Ukiah still doesn't look good and it looks like a bit of rain.  Still undecided about going and will check the weather reports on Wednesday and give my 'final answer.'  Need to cancel Motel 6 reservations.  I've got more sense than to sit there all day Saturday in rain and then again on Sunday.  Gosh, just heard that we are bracing for our first storm.  High winds, rain, etc.  Talking about sandbags?  What the hell is going on?

WATCH OUT FOR FLYING CANOPIES.  I have just made an addition to the page.  Check out Flying Canopies and read about 'Canopies Gone Wild'

MEMORABLE MOMENTS.  As time passes, we tend to forget those special moments that you come across when you are traveling or doing shows.  This will be a regular feature here on The Dose.  Our first memorable moment occurred at a McDonald's in San Luis Obispo when we were doing the Stone Soup Street Fair in Grover Beach. Here goes:

T'S A CRAZY WORLD, AIN'T IT?  After we left the event, we drove back to the motel.  I took a spin over to McDonalds to pick up something to eat. (no Sizzler tonite!)  I placed my order, which included a Big Mac.  The guy asks me if I want the special, which was two for $3.00.  He said that one costs $3.09 and I could get two for $3.00.  So, I said to him, "HUH?."  He then repeated the deal.  He points toward the sign on the wall.  I turn around.  "Okay, where's the camera.  Come on out."  We start laughing.  I looked to my left.  "Where's the camera, you're kidding me, right."  He then told me again that was their special and that's what I got.  As I stood there waiting for my order, I thought about selling my extra Big Mac to somebody for two bucks.

NO NEED TO feel lonely at street fairs and carnivals.  Don't be left out because all your buddies have pooches by their sides.  Impress your friends with a dog from:

October 11.  Nice day to prop yourself up in front of the tube and watch some baseball and football.  UPDATE:  NO.  It was not a nice day for propping.  Red Sox lost and are out; Niner's got clobbered and the forsaken and hopeless Raider's got the ($&#)# kicked out of them.  However, I do not follow them.  I do follow the Patriot's and they lost.  I swear that I always keep seeing Denver beating team's on a last second field goal.  Tomorrow is another day.  Perhaps, a rainy day at that.

COSTCO CANOPIES.  Go ahead and click on the Special Report icon on the left.  Read about my nightmares with Caravan Canopies.

WET WEEKEND COMING UP.  Once again, rain is in the works for next weekend in Ukiah.  Both weather.com and Accuweather.com says so.

NEW WORD ADDED TO VENDOR TERMINOLOGY.  Junk.

Anything that a vendor sells that is not antique, arts and crafts or re-sell is classified as 'JUNK'.  Gosh Mark, I just walked all around this show and all I saw was 'junk.'

October 10.  Did Alma Heights Christian Academy Flea Market.  Quite a number of vendors but not enough people to support them.  My COSTCO CARAVAN canopy collapsed.

October 9.  PROMOTERS, ETC.  You can now submit your event for inclusion in our Upcoming Events section.  This is a very new feature on this website and these listings are viewed by thousands of people each month.  Try it.  It's free and will only cost you one minute of your time.  Click here to submit event which will be included in our listings in a day or two.

UP-GUESS SHIPMENT. Last week I had a package shipped from jacksonville, FL (Oct 2).  I checked the tracking on it and saw that it arrived San Pablo yesterday at 3:06am.  It then went to South San Francisco and arrived there at 3:58.  WHY?  Crazy world isn't it?  I am located in Hayward in the East Bay, perhaps 23 miles from San Pablo.  Why do they bring it across the Bay Bridge over to South City, sort it again and then send it over to Oakland?  You see, to get to S.S.F., you must pass through Oakland.

THIS WEEK'S EVENT:

Alma Heights Christian Academy Flea Market located at 1030 Linda Mar Blvd. in Pacifica.  This event is held twice-yearly at this school.

October 8.  ALPHA ZETA EVENTS.  Nada has a show periodically at the Meridian Square Shopping Center in San Jose.  Next up is her 'Trick or Treat Bazaar' on October 31.  Should be lots of fun.  We'll be there.  One day event.   October 31, 2009 (Last Saturday)
November 14, 2009 (Second Saturday)  December 12, 2009 (Second Saturday)

October 7   Had to drop by the business office at Kaiser Health Center today.  Went up to the second floor to look for it and walked back and forth, not being able to spot it.  I walked over to the PSYCHIATRY department and stepped over to the window.  "Can you tell me where the business office is.  I'm going crazy looking for it."  The receptionist laughed and then told me 'the window is over there.'  I went to where I thought 'over there' was and looked around.  Oh no.  No window.  I began actually talking to myself.  "There's no window over here" I said to myself.  A guy comes walking out of the Phsychiatry Dept and shows me where it was, around the corner down another hallway.  Nuts!!!

TILLAMOOK COUNTY FAIR application for 2010 arrived.  Anybody want it before I toss it?  They upped the booth fee to $350.  No way.  They said it was their best fair ever.  You had better speak to the vendors about that one.  They claim to have gotten 26,000 on Saturday, the last day and 75,000 for the whole show.  No way, dude.  Uh uh.  Where the hell were we?  Were you counting the cows?  I really doubt it especially since it rained during the early afternoon.  Come on people, who the hell are you kidding?  Another souped attendance figure for Craftmaster.  Not a single vendor would believe that!!!

October 6.  WEATHER OR NOT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IT......  it looks like rain next weekend..... Oct 16-18 in Ukiah.  Rough.  Showers on Fri; Sat morning and then Sunday.  30 percent chance that I'll cancel my motel reservations and not show up if they are showing 3 days of rain next Wednesday.  Saw this on Accuweather.  That was to be my last two-day show of the year.  Might have to eat that $150.  Can't make much money up there in the rain.  Looks like some showers in Hayward on Fri and Sun.  So, what do I do...  Chabot College Flea Market?  Oh gosh.  That's all I need.

Have started working on my 'report' of Non Profits acting badly at shows.  Nuff said.  Stay tuned...  meanwhile, I made up this little cartoon.

The following graphic depicts vendors claiming to have made items 'by hand' while poking fun at the Galt Wholesale Market along with their purchases of various items, which they claim to have made.  Pokes fun at the gullibility of customers to believe that somebody is actually hand-making these and trying to tell the naive that these are mass-produced in China.

October 5.  End of the world coming on Dec 21, 2012 according to the new movie coming soon.   You can read more about the Mayan version of the end here.  Remember, when it happens, you read it here!!!!!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLD when you see a dime on the ground and don't pick it up.  Quarter's AND UP, Please.  I sure as hell jumped on that 10-dollar bill I spotted last week.

WEATHER FORECAST looks good for this weekend.  However, around the middle of next week, we could be in for some wet stuff.  Checked our forecast for Ukiah and look like rain on Fri and Sat.  Oh gosh.  Of course, I don't believe it.

NON-PROFIT GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS continually step out of line at events and it's growing old and getting worse.  Vendor's sales are being affected by their tactics which go unchecked by promoter's. etc.  I am writing a page on this and I will be bringing this to the attention of whomever I have to in order to 'contain' these animals who gallop to the middle of the aisle accosting passer's by who do not want to be bothered or who do not like the idea of having somebody stick flyers, etc. on top of their notices.  I'll have my piece done by next week.  Can anybody expand upon any particular problems they may have had with this NP Groups?  Recommendations?  Share your ideas with me through the 'Hotline' or visit our forum and we'll all have a beer and discuss it.  Thank you.

October 4.  Sales were absolutely terrible in Manteca for the vendors.  Hats off to the organizations for putting on a good, orderly event.  However, people just not buying.  Be sure to read my review, which is almost completed at this time.  See link above.

October 2.  Just received a call on my cell phone.  Now there are like 4-5 people in this whole wide world that have my cell phone number.  They tell me to press number '1' so I did.  Kind of curious.  The lady told me that she wanted to give me updated credit card rates.  I asked her how did she get my number.  She then told me that she got it from the Merican Credit Buuu.   What?  The Merican Credit Buuuu.  Oh gosh, are you trying to say "bureau?"   Yes, The Merican Credit Buuu.  She then started telling me about credit card rates and I then axed (get it?) her how she got my number and she hung up.  Her number?  Of course I will tell you.  228-209-9560.    Did a search on the number and there is a lot of info on this.  They are trying to get your credit card numbers, etc. or try to swindle you in some other way, shape or form.

THE WORLD OF SPORTS.
The Mall of America and the Minnesota Vikings said Thursday they've reached a three-year agreement on naming rights to the football field. The field will be officially called Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome until the team's lease expires in 2012. Neither party would discuss financial terms.  Why don't they just throw in another $30 million to get rid of the HHH Metrodome part?

WEATHER LOOKS PRETTY GOOD FOR NOCAL these next couple weeks.  Temps in the low 70s in Manteca.  Looking at 80 degrees next week in Ukiah with plenty of sun and I hope that lasts until the Pumpkin Fair.

NOW THIS IS A CHEESESTEAK.  FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES.

October 1.  Was checking up on the Hmong Festivals in California and stumbled across this interesting thing on the href="http://www.sacramentohmongnewyear.com/2010_VendorApplication.pdf"> application regarding food vendors:

High Risk $132   Low risk $63
Note:  Additional county permit fee required for high risk or low risk vendors

High Risk consisted of Papaya Salad, BBQ, Noodle soup, mainly for all food vendors. Low Risk consisted of Churros, Hot tea/drink, Produces, Drinkable for sample

Booth Fee Info: Food booth: $1,600.00

September 30.  Have reached the end of September and there has been a significant change in the weather.  Substantially cooler.  Was very surprised to wake up yesterday morning and see that we had some rain.  Uh.....where did that come from?  I never ever saw anything on any weather forecast.  So, once again we need good weather forecasters with state of the (#$##)(#@#$%*) art technology.

OREGON COUNTY FAIRS.  Received papers from Coos County Fair (July 2010) and they want us to 'update' our applications.  Uhhhhhhh......  kind of early, do not you think so?  Want us to list what we shall be selling next year.  Wow.  This is only September and we really have a vague idea of what we shall be selling there because a lot of us will be changing our products around during the early part of the year.  March is a fine time for this, but really.....September.... NINE freaking months before?  We don't have to send in payment yet, but still....

Hey Vendors.  Have a tough time putting up with things?  How about....

September 29.  Construction of the new COSTCO on Hesperian Blvd. in Hayward continues and the store is expected to open on Nov 24.  I had let me membership run out but since they have a gas station there, I'll renew.  I previously had to go over to San Leandro, 7 miles away, which comes to $2.00 round trip in gas.  So, that added a total of around $.15 for each gallon.  But then, I did not make special trips there just for the gas.  I'm not really a COSTCO fan because everything is in BIG packages, and it seems like every thing (food) is in packages costing $15 or more.  Very easy to rake up a purchase of $400

PRETTY WINDY here in Hayward.  Started picking up this morning.  Probably going to last for several days.  Just hope it stops by the weekend.

September 28.  Heard that it was extremely slow at Cherry's Jubilee on Sunday.  Like a ghost town?  Uh uh uh.  What has happened to this event which has drawn 30-40K people there in the past.  This economy is really affecting every thing around.

So, the people show da hell weren't at the car show......well, where were they?  Maybe we'll come up with something.  How about this?

I guess that everybody was at the Sea Otter Races, huh?  To see more 'Lighter Side' events going on this past weekend in the Salinas area, click here,

Another show this past weekend was Clovisfest, which is more or less a 'mini Big Hat Days' festival down there in this town near Fresno.  We did it several times, but just too expensive.  Anybody out there can give me info on how it was?

September 27.  Did Cherry's Jubilee Car Show at Laguna Seca.  Supposedly quite a bit of advertising and tend to believe it.  However, crowds were way down from what I understand and the people entering were making a beeline for the cars.  Very small traffic flow through the vendor area.  They told us on the application that the show went from 10-6 on Saturday (Sun 10-3).....  Uh I started noticing that there were fewer and fewer people around 1:30 and mostly all the cars were gone by 2:30.  I packed up everything and didn't come back on Sunday.  I guess at least 3 other (merchandise) vendors did the same.  I guess they (think) that they put on a good car show and it probably might very well be.  But this year, very bad and I won't be coming back in the future.  I feel that all of us got burned big time on the application because it stated that the show would run from 10-6.  I think that I did okay considering the traffic flow through the booths.

OTHER SHOWS.  There were a couple other good-sized shows in the Bay Area+.  We had 'A Taste of Morgan Hill' down Highway 101 between San Jose and Gilroy.  They have a major event there over Memorial Day weekend and this is a 'mini' version of it and supposedly pretty decent.  Can anybody come to the forum and tell us about it?

PACIFICA FOG FEST.  The premier event for Festival Productions with Jerry, Jeff Cambra, etc.  Many blocks of booths and plenty of electricity and enthusiasm.  At least it used to be like that.  They booted us out because we were 'commercial' and it was one of our best events.  They are 'supposedly' trying to make it strictly arts and crafts but the board that runs this event doesn't know their asses from an earthquake crater.  Not a clue.  Sorry to say this, but I can't sugar-coat it.  Can anybody give me the scoop on this?

UPCOMING SHOWS in October.  Richmond Homefront by the Bay is on the first weekend and I highly recommend that vendors pass on this one.  Wow. Almost dooziedom.  They really don't give a rats ass about buying stuff from the vendors and you could very well get more stuff ripped off than what you sell.  No way.

September 25.  Drove down to Laguna Seca and set up the canopy. 170+ miles back and forth.  Weather is looking fine for the weekend.  Something wrong with this?  Long ways to go just to set up.  Maybe it's easier this way.  I just want to see some $$$$$.

September 24.  Having problems with skateboarders at your show?  How about cell phones?  Dog poop?  I have the solution

September 22.  Will be at Cherry's Jubilee at Laguna Seca Raceway.  Seems to be a big event down there with loads of car-related activities.  BYB (Bring your buck$!)

BURNING VENDOR FESTIVAL.  Check out another 'Tall Tale"  Don't forget to read "Groupies Swarm Rock Dealer"

September 21.  Well, here we are.  Another Monday morning and probably Just another Tequila Sunrise own in San Juan Bautista.  Not a great show and from what I heard Newark Days was even worse for people, especially since they spent over $200 for spaces.  Heard that that Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival was pretty good, but I could never get into it because they are very strict about their A&C.  Have to stick with mediocrity, I guess.  You can go ahead and read about The Chicken Festival.  You'll enjoy the review, the story's and the pictures.

HOT RODS AT THE BEACH.  Have decided not to do this event in Santa Cruz.   Taking too long to decide whether I'm in or not, so I decided to put my mind to rest AND PROBABLY MY BODY.  Might be time to take a weekend off.

THIS COMING WEEKEND I'll be down in Salinas at Laguna Seca Raceway for the car event they are having there.  Might have a decent crowd of car buffs there and hopefully they might buy.

Female vocalist Leona Lewis made an appearance on America's got Talent last week and they showed a clip of Oprah Winfrey raving about her as 'having definitely arrived and is a real star.'  Well, if Oprah is raving about a person like that, then she must be of African heritage, which she is.  Lewis was born in the London Borough of Islington, to Aural Josiah "Joe" Lewis of Afro-Guyanese descent and Maria Lewis of Irish, Welsh and Italian descent.  Even though Oprah may be of notable noteriaty but she still gives that 'oomph' when one of the people she is referring to is of HER racial descent.  We used to watch her quite a bit, but with Red Sox games starting at 4:00pm, viewing her on TV is not a priority with our family.  However, I have seen her show dozens upon dozens of times and that is fairly noticeable.

September 19.  It was slow for all the vendors at the chicken today.  Heard that it was pretty bad over in Newark also.  Still laughing at that 100,000 people they claim to get for the event.  Anyhow, good ruck on Sunday.  Thank gosh for low booth fees.

Had some skateboarders racing up and down the sidewalk behind me.  If you ever get plagued by kids doing this at your shows, print about 5-10 of these out and post them along the sidewalk.  That MIGHT stop them.

JOIN US OVER THE EASTER WEEKEND at Casa de Fruta for the renaming of the facilities to Casa de Knappa, in honor of the promoter who put this place on the map.

September 18.  CHICKEN FESTIVAL in San Juan Bautista this weekend.  A couple years ago I did a pizza festival in Lemoore (terrible) and they had Domino's, Boston Pizza, etc.  I certainly hope that I am not going to see Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeye's, Church's, etc.  Will this event be worth crowing about?  Be sure to read the review

HAYWARD TONIGHT.  Had a shootout this afternoon at a strip mall located at the corner of Jackson Street and Santa Clara.  Shooties hit with bullets and they took several members of opposing gangs into custody.  PLANE CRASH at the airport a couple days ago.

September 17.

FOR ONCE, I AGREE WITH OBAMA.  KANYE WEST IS A JACKASS!!!  I saw the tape of Obama saying 'he's a jackass' and immediately regretted it when he realized that it's going to make the news clips.  Well.....Kanye West is a jackass and he's not the only one.  We have jackasses all over the place including all these idiots trying to make a big deal of YOUR  leader's comments.

September 16.  NEW.  I am writing a bunch of ficticious stories and we are calling the section 'Tall Tales' and the first story is about a rock dealer in Monterey.

I AM WATCHING THE FINALS of America's Got Talent and they will select the winner tonight.  Does anybody actually think that these shows are on the up-and-up?  Just keep in mind that the winner is pre-determined to be the one act/contestant that will bring the most money to the producers.  The voting thing?  Just to keep the show running and to get viewership.  More viewers=more advertising dollars, period.  For instance, they kept Grandma Lee in it until tonight to get the older crowd watching and rooting for her.  Very good and charismatic for a 78 year old lady.  THE CHICKEN PLUCKER WON.

Found a great place to eat breakfast this past weekend in Castro Valley.  Got a Denver Omelet from Doug's Place next to Lucky's on the Boulevard.  One of the best I have ever eaten  3 1/2 stars!!!!

SHOW REVIEWS.  Beginning with the Castro Valley Fall Festival review, I will be following a new format, making it more interesting to read.  First and foremost is the actual review itself, which also contains a preview of the event.  Near the top of this, you will find 'The Review' itself in a bright yellow or green box.  This is my no-frills, no-nonsense overall evaluation of the show.  Below that, you will find more information about the event include stories about vendors, food, weather, etc.  All the information you need to know about the show.  Toward the bottom of the page, you will find an area called 'The Lighter Side' which is a comical and humorous way to look at events and occurences at the event.  I think that you will like it.

PALLEN SCHOOL OF MARTIAL ARTS   Last week before the event, I vented some steam toward them which had been building up over the past three years.  Fearing that I would be next to them, I just wanted to let the world know just how bad they were.  You can read about them on Yelp   Insider Pages,   Merchant Circle.  Need to let the world know.

September 15.  Recovering after facing reality at the Castro Valley Fall Festival.  Be sure to read the review.  I heard that the Pittsburg Seafood Festival was pretty slow for the vendors.  Can anybody tell me about it.  Go to the forum and let us know what happened.
Looks like we all are in for a rough time the remainder of the year.  I can't call this a roller-coaster-ride because there are no more ups and downs on this ride.

WEATHER is looking okay for this coming weekend.  Looks like 82 and sunny in San Juan Bautista.

September 13.  Hopefully today will be drier.  Wow, am I actually saying that in the month of September?  Going to be a wet autumn (and winter).  Batten down the hatches.

SAN MATEO COUNTY FAIR.  To my understanding, there were huge problems with booth placement, foot traffic direction and uppity organizers of the vendor area when they had the event earlier this summer  Numerous altercations with them as vendors were not too pleased with their harsh and brutal treatment and obviously there needs to be a good number of changes at the event. Threatening vendors with 'black-listing' is not the way to handle things.  I am hoping that certain individuals come forward and tell us the story in our forum.  We would love to hear from them.  Starving vendors (and the few non-starving ones also) need to stick together and spread the gospel truth.  Let's raise our cup-o-noodles soup containers high up to the sky and unite amongst ourselves.  You've also got to get your reviews of this event into Craftmaster New's reviews of the event to let other's know what's going on.  Their reviews are an exceptional resource for vendors.

September 12.  Just after checking the forecast on Weather.com and seeing no rain forecast, I heard a couple loud bangs of thunder.  No lightening....  just thunder.  What in he hell is going on here.  We don't have this kind of stuff in the Bay Area.  I am leaving to go set up in 45 minutes in Castro Valley (6 miles away) for the Fall Festival.  Forecasts are crazy.  Weather is crazy.  Everybody is crazy.  I'm going crazy.  A few minutes later. I saw more lightening and heard thunder.  Stepped outside and it was sprinkling hard.  Damm.

Rained off and on during the morning; somewhat okay during the PM.  Crowds came out during the afternoon, but was affected by the morning rain.

GAS PRICES at Chevron near me are now at $3.20. Going up and up.  We are going to hit $4.00 before long.  So sad.

September 11.  This is the day everybody remembers or actually, the media will not let us forget.  But I understand the necessity of paying tribute to those people that died that day and to the destruction that these people caused.  You never know what's going to happen from day to day.  I wrote a little piece about 9-11 and it's on the main page of the website.  No big deal.  Just remembering.

CASTRO VALLEY FALL FESTIVAL IS COMING UP this weekend and I know we all will be seeing familiar faces once again and it looks like the weather will be okay.  I want to take the time out to remind dog owners to not allow your dogs to pee in people's booths.  I am tired of seeing wet table coverings and puddles on the ground.  Don't pretend like you didn't see it, either.  Control your kids.  Ladies, don't let your husbands stop you from buying.  If you are hesitant about buying, ask his opinion.  However, if you really want it, BUY THE DARN THING.  Don't worry about him, all he cares about right now is that football game and if he questions your purchase, then ask him how much he bet on the game.  He'll shut up.

WEATHER is going weird again.  They are predicting rain for either Sunday evening (Accuweather.com) or Monday (Weather.com). Actually showers, but nothing further later in the week.  Take this particular report with a grain of salt, but remember that our rains are just around the corner and this could be an indication of a very wet fall and winter.  Just be prepared when it comes.

September 10.  Just recalling the past couple years that we did the Castro Valley Fall Festival and had the Pallen School of Martial Arts occupying the booth next to us.  Hopefully, we won't have to deal with those jackasses this year.  What a terrible bunch of people.  Very rude and inconsiderate.  They continually held demonstrations in front of their booth blocking show visitors from proceeding along the event.  Sorry to say this but they are a bunch of classless morons and I do not recommend that parents allow their children to enroll there.

YOU CAN BOOKMARK my review of the Castro Valley Fall Festival as I have prepared a preview of it and will add to it as time goes on.

South Carolina's Rep. Joe Wilson interrupts Obama's speech by yelling "You lie!" when Obama says that illegal immigrants would not be covered by a reformed health care system.  Is Obomber telling the truth?

September 9.  Please sign up for our forum.  Many changes.  Check it out.  I really encourage you to participate in our discussions which are often quite interesting.  You can hear (and contribute) what others have to say about their events each week.  Hear what we have to say about promoters and other issues that affect us.  You'll love it.  http://davejs.proboards.com/index.cgi

September 7.  Labor Day.  Bay Bridge to remain closed until at least Wednesday.

September 5.  Check out my review for Casa de Fruta.  One day down with two to go.  Going to be a lonnnnng weekend.  Better pick up a box of 'cup o'noodles.'  Can't afford anything else with this kind of money.

September 3.  Sign up for our Starving Vendors Newsletter.  First issue expected to be sent around Sep 15-20.

MICHAEL JACKSON'S BODY IS FINALLY BEING PUT TO REST, thank gosh.  Services are being held tonight and it's being broadcast LIVE on the TV Guide Channel.  A Hearse was spotted.  Was the body in there?  Go ahead and read.

CHEVRON GAS station here at Southland showed a jump of 10 cents to $3.15 since Monday.  Wow.  I was shocked it went up so much so quickly.  We are screwed.

September 2.  Okay, no use crying over Stoned Soup.  Time to move on.  Hopefully, no more shows like that one.

MANY POST OFFICES TO CLOSE including two here in Hayward....  Mount Eden and Bradford (downtown-the original Hayward P.O.)  Click here to see if yours is destined toward extinction.

BASEBALL.  Red Sox have a 3 1/2 game lead for the Wild Card.  I guess we can forget about catching the Yankees.  However, we do have three games left with them later this month and if we can sweep?  Who knows.  Still have the Rangers on our butt.  Looks like da Sox and Angels in the first round.  Tough.  They are the best hitting team in the majors this year and hopefully. we can stymie them.  Eventual showdown with the Yankees.  Gosh, that will definitely be great.  Beckett has to be healthy for that and the rest of our rotation had better get it together or it's bye bye Balboni.  Twas a fast year. huh?
ack East to wherever.  Whenever the Johnny Walker truck passed by a biker, the guy on the motorcycle would wave and the driver of the truck would sound his horn.  I guess that's the drink of the biking world?
